Frequently asked questions
Browse and search answers by category in your active locale—including residential, commercial, and public-sector journeys.
General
Are English and Persian experiences equivalent?
Yes in capability: the same journeys, tools, and catalogue exist in both locales. Wording is independently localized, not pasted through a literal translator. Shared slugs keep translated pairs together.
Calculators
Are the calculators using live market data?
Iran currently has a Full, versioned market pack (iran-full-2026.07) used by the home resilience and commercial continuity calculators. Other countries remain Discovery: educational content and consultation, without financial results. Calculator outputs are ranges with visible assumptions, not a design or a quote. “Live” is reserved for telemetry with a defined source—not for these estimators.
Commercial
Can EV chargers stay on during backup?
Only if the shed plan says so. Charging often yields to refrigeration, IT, or life-safety loads. We write that choice down during smart-energy design.
How does Solarun approach commercial continuity?
We start with outage exposure for the processes that actually stop revenue or spoil product, then size solar, storage, and controls around that list. Residual risk stays labeled. The commercial continuity calculator explores Iran Full-pack ranges; it is not a capex approval.
Public sector
Can the campus islanding demonstration run a real campus?
No. It is a labeled educational simulation on this website. Field islanding requires engineering, protection studies, and commissioning that cannot happen in a browser.
What should public buyers ask for in evidence?
Ask for dated assumptions, residual-risk language, commissioning notes, and whether a figure is measured, projected, or educational. Solarun publishes metrics and certificates only when they are approved and in date. Empty evidence is replaced with process explanation, not invented proof.
Privacy and contact
Do I need to create an account to contact Solarun?
No. Version one has no customer accounts and no production VPP login from this website. Use the persona contact form or email the published inbox.
What happens after I submit a contact form?
We use the minimum fields needed to route your request. Submissions are retained according to the published retention policy and are not an RFP upload portal. You will see validation, success, duplicate, or rate-limit states in the form itself.
Installation
Does Solarun decide when the utility energizes the site?
No. We prepare packages and coordinate, but energization belongs to the utility. We keep an outstanding-item list so you can see what is still outside our control.
How does Solarun treat site safety during construction?
Construction follows the documented method: harnesses and helmets where required, no standing on module glass, and daily notes. We do not publish a “zero accidents” statistic because that would be an unverified public claim.
What does a typical installation sequence include?
After an approved design: site preparation, mounting, electrical works, interconnection coordination, and a commissioning rehearsal you can witness. Safety practice on roofs includes fall protection. Exact duration depends on access, weather, and utility steps we do not control.
Residential solar
Does home solar include whole-home backup by default?
No. Solarun treats whole-home backup as an explicit engineering option. Default planning is critical-load first so the system you commission matches the evenings you actually live.
Contracts and claims
How are public metrics dated?
Every published metric includes its reporting date and review status. Figures that are past review do not appear as current. If no approved metric exists, we explain the method instead of showing a blank card.
When can a site join contracted VPP buyouts?
After interconnection, metering, and controls meet the readiness checklist, and after both parties sign. Eligibility is not automatic with a solar installation. Buyout rates are not published on this website; they belong in the contract, not in marketing copy.
Backup power
How should we choose backup hours at home?
Start with a short critical-load list—typically lighting, refrigeration, communications, and any medical devices you actually use—and a duration you can live with. Whole-home coverage is a larger, explicit scope. The home resilience calculator explores ranges; a feasibility study writes the list you will design against.
Maintenance
What does maintenance usually cover?
Planned visits for inspection, cleaning where specified, inverter checks, and a written punch list. Emergency response times are defined in the care agreement, not assumed. Seasonal reviews compare operating notes to the original assumption log.
Virtual power plant
What is Solarun’s virtual power plant?
Solarun operates an established virtual power plant in Iran that can buy electricity from participating customers under documented legal contracts with the grid. Participation depends on eligibility and contract terms. The public browser demonstration explains energy flow; it does not control real assets or enroll a site.
Monitoring
What will we see in monitoring?
The points listed in your monitoring scope: typically inverter status, selected loads, and agreed alerts. Freshness is defined. Administrator-maintained values are not called “live.”
Storage
Where can a home battery be installed?
Location depends on manufacturer clearances, ventilation, and local rules. We document siting during design and do not place cabinets in egress paths. Warranty language on this site only appears when an approved claim is in date; otherwise we point you to the contract pack.
