Interactive simulations
Energy simulations
Two labeled demonstrations: virtual power plant household energy flow, and campus islanding under a simulated grid failure. Browser controls never operate real assets.
VPP energy-flow demonstration
Walk through sunny generation, battery charge with grid export, peak dispatch, and local backup during a grid outage.
Step 1 of 4: Sunny generation and consumption
Sunny generation and consumption
On-site solar matches household load. No battery activity and no net grid exchange in this illustrative step.
- Solar generation3.0 kW
- Household load3.0 kW

| Flow | Power (kW) |

Campus islanding demonstration
Inspect utility, solar, storage, and load nodes; simulate a grid failure; and step through safe disconnection and critical-load priority.
Step 1 of 5: Normal grid-tied operation
Not every campus can island. Islanding requires engineering assessment, protective devices, operating procedures, and interconnection agreements. This demo is educational only.
Normal grid-tied operation
Utility supplies the campus. Solar and storage support loads while remaining grid-tied.
- Normal grid-tied operation — Utility supplies the campus. Solar and storage support loads while remaining grid-tied.
- Grid failure detected — Utility voltage is lost. Local sources remain available but the campus is not yet islanded.
- Safe disconnection — The campus disconnects from the utility and forms a controlled island with local resources.
- Critical loads prioritized — Noncritical loads are shed so solar and storage can sustain critical services.
- Optional grid restore — Utility power returns. The campus can resynchronize and restore noncritical loads.
